Why Hobby?

In an ultra-connected and, at the same time, lonely world, we want to reactivate local connections and bring life back to courts, halls and spaces that already exist — and are sitting empty.

Real connections

No endless feed. The focus is to bring people together to practice something side by side, in the physical world.

Local community

Create and join activities in your building, in your neighborhood or wherever you are.

Geolocation + schedule

Find out who’s nearby, match schedules and let the habit actually happen.

What is Hobby?

Hobby was created to make that step easier — the one that’s often missing: you want to play soccer, run, cycle, play guitar or practice any other hobby, but you don’t know who to invite or how to start.

Instead of an infinite feed, the app organizes activities in time and space: each meetup has a time, a place, a number of spots and clear rules, helping turn intention into practice with more safety and predictability.

How the app works in practice

With Hobby, you can:

Important: Hobby is a platform that connects people. The organization, management of meetups and any in-person interactions are the responsibility of the participants themselves.

Hobby Manifesto

Every day, when I look out of my apartment window, I see the same scene: buildings with full infrastructure — courts, pools, gyms — completely empty. Spaces created for people to gather, now silent.

It was there, between concrete and silence, that a question appeared: “Do people actually want to practice, but just don’t know with whom?”

The answer was clear: yes. We live surrounded by neighbors, but often alone. Each person with their own desire kept inside, waiting for someone to take the first step.

We created Hobby because we believe in the power of meeting in person. Because we want to see courts full again, laughter echoing through the hallways and hobbies coming to life off-screen.

Hobby is not just another social network. It’s an invitation to coexistence. It’s about leaving home, taking the first step and finding someone who also wants to play, ride, cook, dance or simply talk.

More than likes, we’re looking for real connections. More than profiles, we want people actually meeting. More than an app, we’re building a movement.

A movement for livelier buildings. For more human cities. For a life with more hobbies — and more people around.
